Hi! I was looking around the Internet for expressions relating to the word "beacon," and I came across this blog. If you ask me, "a life beacon" is easy to understand--it's just not literal. Other sayings are more difficult, like "let the cat out of the bag. Why is there a cat in a bag? (Okay, literally every cat likes to be in bags, and purses, and boxes, but you get the idea.) How is a cat in a bag like a secret? I don't know if you've written about this already, but it comes from when someone at a market wanted to sell a pig, but it was really a cat, and when someone bought it for food, they got a cat instead, and then they didn't have food.

¡Hola! Yo buscaba en la Red para frases sobre la palabra inglesa "beacon," y encontré este blog. A mí, "a life beacon" es fácil entender--simplemente no es literal. Otras frases son mas dificiles, como "let the cat out of the bag." ¿Por qué habia un gato en un bolso? (Pues, a todos los gatos, sin excepción, les gustan estar en bolsos y carteras y cajas.) ¿Cómo es un gato en un bolso como un secreto? No estoy segura si tu ya escribes sobre este, pero es de cuando alguien en un mercado vendió un cerdo para comida o algo, pero en realidad era un gato, y la persona que lo compró no compró comida para su familia.
